So after weeks of relentless heat it decided to cool off a little and rain. That is a wonderful thing unless you have an evaporative cooler. Here in Southern Utah there is very little humidity, so a swamp cooler usually works quite well and costs so much less than actual a/c to run. The problem arises when it starts to rain, at that point the only thing you have to cool with is fans. That is how it was over the past 4 or 5 days. Sure the rain dropped the temperature down, but 100 degrees is still hot and now it's also humid. So in an effort to cool off we decided to go up and visit Cedar Mountain. I was up there a few weeks ago for Helaman's Camp and the weather was perfect.
Since Aunt Kerin had Mikki, Kierra and Ty, we even had room to bring along some friends. So along with the Hunt's we loaded up and headed for the hills. Jill and Coby had never been up on the mountain, so we were really looking forward to cooling down. We drove through the area where our family normally camps and it was only 68 degrees. We had a great afternoon, but by the time we reached the summit the temperature was 50 degrees and it was raining. It's kind of hard to picnic when it's cold and raining. So we had to come down off the mountain just to warm up enough to be able to picnic. It was a fun day. Here are a few pics we took.
